Osgoode Outreach
The Osgoode Outreach is a seniors’ social club for adults aged 55+. It meets on Tuesdays from 10 AM until noon at the Osgoode Legion from mid-September until early June. This year Outreach has had a very successful year with lots of new participants. They’ve had lots of laughs, learned new games, and have had speakers on various topics related to living safe and healthy lives. The Garden Club
The Osgoode Garden Club was created to develop and maintain the Osgoode Library gardens. The yearly club focus is on improving and beautifying all gardens surrounding the library. If it’s about gardens, plants, flowers, growing, weeding, and anything green – we talk about it and do it! Click here for more details
Fitness for Positive Aging
Our bodies are designed for movement but current everyday living does not require whole body movements. Lack of movement can lead to many health problems. This program attempts to address the effects of lack of whole body movements to provide health benefits and independent living for as long as reasonably possible. The objective is to perform exercises that will allow participants to live as comfortable as possible as one ages and be capable of independent living. The exercises are based on valid research with older adults by the Centre for Activity and Aging at the University of Western Ontario.
